Paisley Opera began as a group of professional singers, musicians, stage directors and technicians brought together by their passion for keeping opera alive and involving the local community in the company as much as possible.
For Paisley Opera I project managed their first creative learning projects as part of Paisley Opera in the Community, delivering opera-based workshops in three schools in Paisley, with each school hosting a sharing of the pupils’ work. The workshops involved a blend of teaching famous operatic choruses and supporting the young people in devising their own dramatic interpretations of these, work which they then shared with other classes and parents.
Running over the course of a month, the project involved almost 100 school pupils.
